It Started Around a Table
True Colours began with a simple gathering of family and friends. There was no grand plan to create a platform or build a community. The intention was simply to bring people together in a beautiful space and create room for genuine connection.
But something happened around that table. People talked. They shared. They laughed. They reflected. Stories emerged – about life, growth, relationships, dreams, setbacks and the different seasons people were navigating.
No matter our age, achievements or circumstances, none of us is a finished story. That first gathering became the beginning of True Colours. What started as an experience is evolving into a wider community of stories, conversations and experiences that celebrate the many different ways people grow into themselves.
True Colours isn't about presenting a perfect version of who we are. It is about making room for who we have been, recognising who we are today and having the courage to imagine who we might still become.

True Colours was founded by Lorraine Mlenga, a Malawian business leader, strategist and storyteller with a deep interest in people, possibility and the experiences that shape who we become.
The idea grew from Lorraine's desire to create spaces where people could connect beyond titles, roles and appearances – and have more honest conversations about life, ambition, growth and becoming.
What began as an intimate gathering of people close to her has grown into an idea she hopes will connect many more.
